Well, geocaching (pronounced GEO-CASHING) is essentially a game of high tech treasure hide and seek. Katryna refers to it as, "treasure hunting for geeks". Players, and there are thousands of us all around the world, hide items for others to find and post the coordinates (latitude and longitude) on a website. Other players collect the coordinates go to the location and find the hidden item. While there they sign a log book and then they also "log" the find on the website. It's an incredibly addicting sport. Sport? you say, Well, if NASCAR gets to be called a sport then geocaching is definitely one as well. Of course it's not what you find that's important - it's THAT you find it!
Todd (uncle todd) introduced us to this activity a few years back and it didn't take long for the bug to run into our veins. 300+ caches later, it's something we all enjoy. Well, Jay actually enjoys it more then everyone else, but everyone likes the trips and going to see new places.
What does - kayakingtwilbecks - have to do with anything. Well, when we signed up for an account on geocaching.com we had just bough tour tandem kayak and ,well, we're the Twilbecks. Naturally the name was not hard to put together.
Take a look at some of the websites and see what you think. If you'd like to drop us a line and ask a question or two we'd love to hear from you.
